The air temperature is measured by a thermometer and the air pressure is measured by a barometer, both placed outside on the aft part of the navigation bridge.

The temperature changes during day and night, during change of the seasons and during passage of areas with different climates.

The air pressure changes with temperature and with various weather conditions.

Temperature/pressure measurements are not corrected for height variations.
