The logging of the fleet’s performance have been incorporated as a daily routine for the crews on board the ships for several years and the data is collected in the system as noon data which is data values averaged over one day.

The data sensors are typically installed on board as part of the operational equipment e.g. the speed log, the torque meter and the wind anemometer.

In many cases the data also is logged continuously either by the ship’s automation system, the Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) or a combination of both.
